Industrialization
The Industrial Revolution refers to the period from 1750 to 1825, which initially started in Britain. During this time, inventions such as steam power were introduced and used to better daily lives. The economy increased immensely from these products and is still affected by them to this day. Factories were used more everyday and made it easier to mass produce goods, allowing for the shipment to other countries to be cheaper, which helped the economy even more. These factories specialized in textiles, iron manufacture, and the steam engine. Because all of the factories were so close in proximity, the cost was reduced which resulted in the growth of urban areas.
After 1800, this epidemic started to spread to countries all over the world, going from the United States to northwest and central Europe, to Russia and Japan, increasing their lifestyle and decreasing the costs of goods. The rule of industrialization was first textiles (and food processing), then transportation, industry, metalworking and electronics (International Encyclopedia of the Social Sciences). Even years after this revolution has occurred, the changes made in technology and machinery are continuing to grow every day.

This artwork is a tremendously accurate depiction of the world we live in today. Not only does it portray the danger of industrialization, it embodies it. This piece symbolizes the danger that the cities are putting "mother nature" in. The pollution and the destroying of crops and forests, they are all leading to our final demise in the world as a whole. Society is destroying the earth and there is no guilt involved.
This
movement has influenced many inventions and has increased our quality of living
by tremendous amounts. Without industrialization, we would not have cars,
factories, telephones, etc. This was a helpful time and has eased our way of
life. However, despite the excellent changes the period has made, there are
many downfalls. Industrialization calls for buildings to be built and cities to
be lived in. The air quality has decreased and pollution -both water and air-
amplified. Forests are being cut down, killing homes for animals and many
animals themselves. Some plants located in forests are anti-cancer plants and
produce medicine for any sickness. Industrialization and the movement of technology
is killing our ecosystem.
